Canhelp is committed to helping communities help themselves. Some of our initiatives include:
Bicycles for children. The children in Cambodia are not only poor, but some have a two hour walk to school. For a one-time donation of $110, you can help two children in Cambodia get to school and back safely on their own bikes. Your donation will buy two bicycles and two packs of school books for two needy kids. Bicycles for these children improve school attendance and their future.
Child sponsorship. For less than $1 a day ($27 a month), you can support the education of a child in Cambodia or Nepal and ensure their future. May children in poor economic circumstances are unable to obtain a quality education without support, and for girls it is so often the case that they are the last members of the family to even have a chance to go to school.
Education centres. The DACMEC resource centre in Kathmandu helps teachers in the local area by providing resourses to better prepare lessons and educate themselves and their classes.
Small business support. Canhelp supports the establishment or enhancement of a family small business in Nepal. The business’ are run by mothers who are the family’s breadwinner and a one-time donation of $150 makes the world of difference. Donations provides business advice, health lectures, nutritional training courses, emotional support and financial guidance.
